BIRCH burns really well and nice and hot and it's a great option for smaller stoves as it lights very quickly generating heat almost immediately and has a high calorific value. Birch generates a very good heat output, bright lively flames and a very nice aroma and because it lights very quickly it generates heat quicker. In terms of BTU created Kiln Dried Birch is very similar to Ash and only slightly behind Kiln Dried Oak.

Add Kiln Dried Oak Logs Half Crate ( £275.00 £261.91 ) Product added to your basket (More Info)
Kiln Dried Oak Logs Half Crate
Product Summary
The Half Size Kiln Dried OAK Logs Crate is a great size option for occasional & regular users. The Half Size Crate comes in a strong timber frame, pre stacked and full of Kiln Dried OAK Logs which are all a maximum of 25cms in length with mixed widths from approx 6-22cms, so no need to waste time stacking your logs by hand & finished off with a clear pallet wrap and topper for transportation, so just pick the logs you need and go light your fire. So much easier than loose logs
Oak burns hot and slow lasting a long time because of it's density but it can take longer to get started so use plenty of kindling and smaller logs to begin with then once started sit back and enjoy a long lasting hot fire
Kiln Dried Oak is generally considered one of the very best logs and much sought after. It burns fairly slowly with nice flames and produces excellent heat even when only embers are left. It is categorised as a heavy hard wood with a deep ridged dark brown bark and rougher to the touch. Per ton of kiln dried oak it produces over 5500 kwh of energy
The Half Size Log Crate is approximately 400 kilos in weight
Don't be fooled by cheaper prices as some crate sizes are smaller than ours
Our Kiln Dried OAK Logs fit most wood burning stoves (we usually advise not to use Oak in open fires as it can spit and be smokey until it reaches operating temperature) and the crate gives you a mixture of log widths which are all a maximum of 25cms in length and they are packed 4 rows deep

Our Kiln Dried Ash Logs fit most wood burning stoves and the crate gives you a mixture of log widths which are all a maximum of 25cms in length
Kiln Dried Ash is also very good and probably the most popular wood for Pizza Ovens as they have very low moisture content, they burn hot & clean so they don't affect the taste of the food or emit moisture or odours and don't soot up the chimney. The drier the wood the more energy used for heat production and less time needed to evaporate water content found in non kiln dried logs
